The Green Energy Act

Under the Green Energy Act, Ontario has launched a series of bold measures to attract new investment in renewable energy projects and build a green economy that will promote the creation of 50,000 jobs over the next three years.

Some of these measures will make it easier for First Nation and Métis communities to participate in the development of renewable energy generation facilities.

The Aboriginal participation measures will include:

• an Aboriginal Loan Guarantee Program,
• an Aboriginal Energy Partnerships Program and
• Aboriginal price incentives for the feed-in tariffs.
